The nutrition section consists of a few different features. Let’s go through them. First, we mainly a collection of healthy, tasty, quality recipes that you can make to ensure you’re eating well. If you’re new to fitness, following a strict meal plan may be tough! So just start with getting used to making and having some of the individual recipes from this section. Perhaps to begin with, set yourself the challenge of having 1-5 meals per week from the in-app recipes, instead of what you’re usually used to eating. If there are any you particularly like, you can press the star icon in the top right corner of the recipe page to ‘favourite’ the recipe, and it will appear on the nutrition homepage for you (so you don’t have to search for them anymore).
Use it as a stepping stone before committing to something greater. As they say, the best diet is the one you stick to - so if you’re new to this, take it slow, and gain some confidence in eating a little healthier before moving onto the next step!
The recipes have been specifically curated by the MyARC team. If your trainer has added their own custom recipes, or their favourite recipes, this will appear at the top of the nutrition page in a section called ‘Recipes by <your trainer>’ - these ones have specifically been created by them for you :(
Once you’re ready to take this up a level (or perhaps you don’t want to search for recipes anymore), you can get access to a custom meal plan. This will be a 7 day meal plan based on your required calorie intake and dietary preference. Tap on the panel at the top of the nutrition page, answer a few questions about your body physiology and activity levels, and we’ll calculate your calorie target using our in-built calorie calculator. Based on this target calorie band, you’ll be given a customised meal plan that will have all the meals that you need to eat in a 7 day rotation, as well as a grocery list that will help you get your shopping right for the week.
Furthermore, if there are any recipes that you’re not a fan of, you can request modifications to the individual recipes via the recipe page - modifications will naturally result in some deviation from the meal plan, but it’s better to deviate slightly and stick to the plan overall, rather than not following it entirely. These tools are here to help you stick to your goals as much as possible, whilst staying flexible to your personal preferences.
